Tawa Community Patrol

TAWA needs YOU!

Join the Tawa Community Patrol! We are a volunteer group committed to keeping Tawa a safe place to live, work and play.

We currently have 40 dedicated volunteers who patrol during the day, night, and at community events. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

We act as the 'eyes and ears' of the New Zealand Police and the community, with the support of Wellington City Council and our sponsors.

We are currently recruiting for more volunteer patrollers. If you are interested in joining our friendly and welcoming team - or just want to find out more, simply click on the Join Us button, complete the form and we'll be in touch!

2017 Safety in the City Awards

We are proud to have received a Safety in the City Award for our involvement after the November 2016 earthquake, getting about the suburb to offer reassurance and assistance. The following day there was a major storm that brought down a tree on the Main Road. The patrol was out again, offering assistance and freeing up the fire brigade to attend to other pressing matters.

Wellington Emergency Services Expo

The Wellington Emergency Services Expo was held on Saturday 30 September 2017. Members from Tawa and Upper Hutt Community Patrols attended with patrol vehicles, and interacted with members of the public.

Good in the Hood - thanks!

Thanks to all your support at Z Tawa during May, we received a total of $797.00 through Z Energy's Good in the Hood campaign. This funding will ensure we keep doing good in our hood, and keeping Tawa a safe community!
